It's been ten years since Pierce Brosnan starred in Die Another Day, and the actor has had a tumultuous post-Bond career. Mixing critical hits like Roman Polanski's The Ghost Writer with forgettable fare like the western Seraphim Falls, Brosnan has struggled to find a lead role as memorable as the world's greatest spy. But at this stage, perhaps he's better as a supporting player. Variety reports Brosnan will star opposite Owen Wilson in the upcoming action thriller The Coup, in which Wilson plays a man who must protect his family when they get caught in a violent coup when rebels attack near their new Southeast Asia home.
Brosnan will play a mysterious government operative. It is not clear if he will be a good guy or a bad guy, though I personally think it would be pretty awesome if he played a bad government agent in this.
