I was suprised by this movie. I was expecting it to be corney and very childish. It really was neither. Spears at times was overacting but for the most part seemed very natural in her role. Some of the story at times was a little hard to believe but then again others are very touching. I think it captures friendships and the bond that friends have very well. It also captures rifts that happen over time between friends as they go from children to adults. I could have done without a couple of the long drawn out musical sequences. Overall I don't feel like I wasted my time watching this movie. I would recommend renting it over buying it. I don't plan to watch it again any time soon but it was a good watch.
