When this project was first announced I thought to myself what a great idea. Nobody tells the story from the side of the super villain. With that I then had great expectations for this film. For the most part it delivered. One thing that just stood out to me was the soundtrack. From the opening song all the way to the end the soundtrack made the movie better. The story itself follows and evil villain that has grand plans but of course these grand plans cost more than they make. His arch rival always seems to be one step ahead of him. With that Gru get the idea to adopt some orphans to help him get access to his rivals lair. Steve Carell voices Gru and I really feel that this shows the range that Steve Carell has. The three orphans also are spot on and really well done. The story itself does pan out just the way you would figure it would. It really does not hold many surprises. Overall I think this movie is one that can be enjoyed by almost any age and one that I would recommend.
