Idle Hands
Synopsis: Anton would like very much to go about his daily routine of smoking weed, watching TV, and lusting after the girl across the street. The only thing stopping him is his demon-possessed right hand which seems determined to kill anyone it encounters. After dropping his parents and his best friends, the hand sets its sights on Molly, the punk rock girl of Anton's affection. Luckily for him, Pnub and Mick (his recently deceased buds) are back from below ground to help the problem get solved. Only they better get cracking because the hand is out for more than just a killing spree. If it gets its fingers on Molly before midnight on prom night, her soul is hell-bound.

This movie starts out as a typical horror movie. It starts out with the main characters parents getting ready for bed, when they look up and see written on the ceiling, "I am under the bed". Of course they figure it is there son playing a prank, it is almost halloween. Just as they are about to dismis this as a joke they hear a noise downstairs. Of course this leads them to investiate. That is the last part of the film that has any resemblence of a normal horror film. Actually it is about that point that the movie starts to go downhill. The main character Anton is a typical slacker that lays around all day smoking pot. Hence the title Idle Hands. Actually at about 30 minutes into the movie it goes from being a horror movie to just down right silly. Some of the people killed in the movie stay dead and others return to life. You have a demon hunter that is on the hunt for a demon that is killing people at an alarming rate. It actually at points gets tought to watch and I have to figure that all the pot references in the movie are from the fact that the writters and directors spent most of there time high as well. For film of this type it does have some pretty nice special effects even for a film made in 1999, especially the ones with the dead or not so dead guy carrying his head around. Overall I just can't get past how silly the film becomes. It seemed to lose focus as it goes and becomes something that is between a horror film, comedy, and a spoof. That combination does not seem to work or at least for this film.
