I have enjoyed this movie every time I have watched it. Just because it is a baseball movie does not mean it is meant for a child audience. There is plenty of foul language and suggestive scenes. The story is about a former showgirl who inherits the Cleveland Indians. Her only goal for the team is to be the worst team in baseball so she can move the team to Miami. She goes out and gets players that no one has heard of and if they have heard of them it is because they are way past there prime. I do have to say that this movie does have a lot of special meaning. I grew up watching baseball games in Milwaukee County Stadium. It has now been replaced with Miller Park but I still remember the first time I looked out and saw the field. The stuff dreams are made of. I bring this up as most of the game and inside the stadium footage was shot at Milwaukee County Stadium. I have also spent many days listening to games announced by Mr. Baseball Bob Uecker who also is the announcer in this movie. The story itself does have a lot of flaws and plot holes but then again most movies do. It also does not introduce anything new in regards to plot. It is a bunch of has beens or never will bes exceeding all expectations. Yes we have seen this many times. The actors do a decent job and a few of them even have played some baseball in there past. Overall I really just enjoy this movie as a fun loving, vulgar at times, movie that has the little guy coming out ahead.
