Rating:
I have always loved movies that have to do with The Musketeers. They always have great sword fights, noble causes, and usually a couple of good looking women. This movie has all of that. The story is the traditional Musketeer story that has them being disbanded as the Cardinal is making a move for more power. With the classic story the movie also had a classic feel. For the most part I felt like the sets were all very well done and I actually felt like I had gone back in time. Time Curry as Cardinal Richelieu is maybe the best part cast in the whole movie as well as Chris O'Donnell as D'Artagnan. That brings me to the bad. Charlie Sheen as Aramis or any Musketeer for that matter is a bad idea. He does not have the look, sound or feel of a musketeer. That could have something to do with the fact that the others all went through training with swords, something he missed out on. It could also have to do with his demeanor that makes it hard to except him in that role. Overall I liked this movie and enjoyed this take on the classic tale.
